    Broke Down on Rt 66

    Hi everyone,

This was taken on vacation along Rt 66 in Arizona. I was wondering if the crop could be better, and also had a question about the hdr processing. Does it look overcooked? Especially the car? I appreciate any and all C&C. Thank you very much!

That is a really cool car shell right there! I would have to say that I would have cropped it, if possible, to have the car centered and would have made the car darker to really rustify it or give it some contrast against the bright sky. I have to say I love the point of view, background and the clouds. Pretty awesome all around!

Hi Don,I think increasing contrast might improve the image

Here is a edit with the car cropped closer, and some contrast added to the car's body. Everything else was left alone. Am I on the right track?

Don,I like it with contrast but IMO uncropped version is better with some space on the left.Let's see what other members will say

Fine image. Route 66 one of those strange places that you enter in a perfectly good car and along the way it just wastes away.

    Hi Don,

I adore this image for the beautiful sky, especially the view of the sky as seen through the windows of the car. Also for the lovely detail, and I especially love the patterns of the background, gravel to grass and sky.

Even though it is centered I prefer the 1st crop because in the 2nd crop the car feels cramped. (to me)

I don't know anything about HDR so I can't comment on whether it is overcooked, but I can tell just from looking at the image that it is HDR, and I wonder if it is possible to process an image like this where one wouldn't know it was an HDR image. I simply don't know so I hope you receive more feedback on your processing from more experienced members.

I like the first one too...and no, it is not overcooked at all......I like the textures and as with Christina, I like the sky that goes with the shot...

Good shot - I like the comments made by Binnur and Christine. Like the drama of the second but uncropped.

Thank you everybody for the helpful comments and suggestions. Here is the final image with the original crop of the first image and the modified contrast of the second image.
