    I prefer the second image, Brian.

    In the first one there is a foreground insect which has a blurred face (bottom left corner) and for me this spoils what would otherwise be an excellent photo. I don't mind something blurred in the background but it usually looks odd when in the foreground.

    This makes for a better grouping in the second shot. Although this one could be cropped slightly closer if you wanted to make it more like #1.

    But that would bring out the slightly blurred bottom right grasshopper. I agree on the oddity of a foreground blur but six grasshoppers in an L shape is a rarity for me.
