I certainly don't have ample appreciation of photographs of flies, which explains why I rarely comment on your wonderful photos. However, even I notice the wonderful composition in the first one in which the colors and shapes of the metal pipe (or whatever it is) and background complement the subject so exceptionally well.

Hi David,#1 is very nice,#2 is nice too but that long thing in the middle of antennas(nose or mouth?)makes me shiver

You are right about the metal bar,and I think the rust blisters also add to the image

The comp of #1 is very nice, David but I like #2 best. You know why? -- I am fascinated by that long thing below it's mouth. It looks like a little alien creature with a helmet, arms and legs. My imagination is very fertile at the moment. Can you see the little alien's eyes inside the helmet? In reality perhaps those alien feety thingiemagig are claws that pick up food to put into its mouth...like pliers.
