    I don't believe that is the difference, I would recommend a boxed PSE8 over other options.

    Here's a comparison list I found, I haven't read it though, so it may prove you right!

    Re: Topaz

    Fantastic stuff, I found I can do with PSE7 since there is nothing in PSE8 that isn't in PSE7 that I need, and I bought it from a shop. So why have all images disapeared by the way, is a pic of a pair of specs on a maths book a bit rude.

    Re: Topaz

    Got my PSE7 and it is retail and Topaz is now up and running on it. I must say it is a doddle to make a good pic with a high ev range, you can raise shadows without noise, something that doesn't happen with Helicon Filter or PSE2. So maybe now I don't need to do so much HDR which is a damn shame cos it is the only thing I like doing. cheers

    Topaz is offering a 20% discount until March 15. Watch for the popup bar at the top of the screen of their web site. Coupon code is "newadjust"

    I'll be holding off for now, because I can't afford to get Topaz, the 1G upgrade in memory and the high capacity hard drive all at once.

    There's a special feature about the new Topaz Adjust 4 in issue #17 of the free Plugs 'N Pixels ezine. Earlier issues also have Topaz-related info and tutorials.

    If all you need is to convert RAW to 16-bit Tiffs, Raw Therapee is worth a look. It's free*, versatile and supports batch processing. I use it with everything turned off (sharpening, NR, exposure etc) as i prefer to do all of this in Photoshop.

    Here's the url;

    http://www.rawtherapee.com/?mitem=3 but so scroll down for #2.4.1 as #3.0 is an alpha release
