The goal: Capture a "bucolic" scene of rural Italy
The doub: Too narrow DoF completly ruined the pictures?

Not exactly ruined but I agree that the white animal in the first shot (is it a goat) is slightly out of focus.

Everything behind the man can be out of focus with no problem.

Hi Pellegrino,I find the blurred trees distracting in #1,so I would crop them as you did in #2

Those are lovely... funny that one of my first impressions was that there is not one of the animals head to see
But I like the droop of the man

Aye, is indeed a goat. Anyway, I'm worried that in #1 the foregorund goat is completly oof, and that in the #2 the goat look more in focus that the shepherd -.- With a wider DoF (and a narrower aperture) that wouldn't have happened. I've just got to get the hang of the different DoF on tele-lens -.-

Pellegrino, I am with Gigi...I want to be able to identify what sort of animals the shepherd is tending to. So I will just say: nice dog...
