That was beautiful, John...My camera fell on the deck trying to move it backward...Don't know if I harm it or not so I used my D90 today instead for my stinky bug...

Very good John, you were lucky to have a clear sky for the sequence.

Well, done, John! I would have loved to stay up for it, but had a meeting in the am that I had to be fresh for... Rotten timing for me, but glad someone was able to capture it for us!

Great concept but I have to ask why the moon on the far right is so blurry, unlike all the other moons in the sequence.

Mike, the right most image is a not as sharp as the other due to two issues - this image was shot at the highest iso for my camera (12800), and I believe I accidentally nudged the focus ring on the lens when I took the shot. The noise reduction softens the image, and being slightly off focus does not help anything. Lessons learned for me, and I'll see what I can do to fix these for the next eclipse in October.

Great set of images, John. It was too cloudy to get a beginning sequence but could have gotten the "after" sequence if I could have stayed up but at my age (I'm old) I need my rest plus I am fighting a cold.

My old 1DsIII only goes to ISO 1600 which was a real limitation. Might be time to upgrade to a modern body. You have good sharpness in those images except for the last one. I make mistakes like that more often than I like to admit.
