Rules are made for fools,
Under the guidance of wise men.
Good iconoclasm, Frank.
Frank, nice image.

Beautiful image Frank, and not bad on the poetry
Yummy color.
Yet, other than the centering of the sun,
You did not stray far from the rule of thirds,
For the water/background horizon?
Marie
Well done, Frank! (referring to the photography, as I know nothing about poetry)
Beautiful Frank, real nice...
Great shot. Great sentiment.
Now how about Fibonacci's Golden Spiral.
The image sits in its borders with perfect authority. The soft horizon holds my gaze. You could put this on a wall and not tire of it.
"Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something." - Thomas A. Edison
Love the image, love the title.
Thank you for the kind words Greg, Bruce, Rita, Mike, Robert, Ken, John, and John 2!
An astute observation Marie. Usually when you break the rule of thirds, it is because you employ perfect symmetry. In this case I had partial symmetry so I guess partial rule of thirds is appropriate as well.
I'm glad you are enjoying the image Mark! Although the image is starkly minimalistic, for some reason I find myself looking for subtle details. From the crest of the wave in the lower left corner to how the sun lazily lounges on the horizon to the wisp of fleeting cloud in the upper right I find myself exploring intriguing details I hadn't noticed when the scene spoke to me that early morning.
It is nice to see you uploading images again Frank. Lovely scene
Rules are made for fools,
For the newbies are forced to drool..
(Sorry...that was so tempting...)
Anyway...one of your best works, Frank......Love it!
Friday night is ice cream night around here, but before we are served, hubby will announce : I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream.
A right nice slice of American Pie (a la mode).
