My Short Break
Hi ALL,
Below pictures of twilight were taken during my short break with family in Lombok last month. This view of Bali Island showing the famous volcano of Gunung Agung from the resort I stayed in North Lombok. Your c & c would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks a mill.

Re: My Short Break
No. 2 for me Walad, perhaps with just a tad more contrast.

Re: My Short Break
Personally, Walad, I would crop to lose some of the foreground in the first 2 images.
I have found that this sort of scene can work if the foreground is sharp and sufficiently interesting, but then there is a risk that it might appear more important than the far distance unless there is something to connect the two. And I have rejected most of my attempts to achieve a compromise over this sort of shot.
But with less foreground I feel the sky will gain in importance and impact. Probably need a different size ratio though.
The third shot is a good idea but somehow those lights aren't quite working for me. Not really sure what else to suggest though.

Re: My Short Break
I like #1 best but the foreground needed a bit of a crop...but then it might be just me as I do not really like long exposure on water...it doesn't look natural to me but it is the trend nowadays in the photo world.

Re: My Short Break
Hi Walad, I like the images I would crop foregrounds of #1 and #2 for a better look. Waves are distracting and they don't add very much to the images.

Re: My Short Break
1 is perfect with the "three - thirds" well defined

Re: My Short Break
Walad, for me both scenes work well and have been beautifully captured.
With regard to the foregrounds this of course will be subjective but if they were mine I would leave as they are. My reasoning for this is that if removed, these images then downgrade to just another text book sunrise/sunset (although extremely good) and the story loses what the water is also doing at the beautiful time of the day.
As for the car, it looks clean at lest
