    Another Sunrise Photo

    Hi all,

The following shots were taken last weekend.

#1 was taken on a very cloudy day - did not expect to see any sunlight, and then the clouds parted in couple of areas to let the sunshine through... felt like someone was holding a flashlight from behind the clouds.
    (Nikon D3100 @ 180mm, F/5, 1/125s, Matrix Metering, ISO 100, White Balance: Cloudy)

    Another Sunrise Photo

#2 was taken at the same place, but on the next day.. much clearer and also had some hot air balloon flights add some action to the scene.
    (Nikon D3100 @ 70mm, F/4.5, 1/800s, Matrix Metering, ISO 100, White Balance: Direct Sunlight)

    Another Sunrise Photo

C&C welcome! (BTW, these are straight out of the camera, except for conversion from RAW to jpg, of course.)

    Vish,
Both good shots but I like #2 the best. It really captures what an early sunrise is about. Plus, the balloons are a nice touch.
My only thought is that I think the image needs to be rotated a bit counterclockwise to level the water.

I like the 2nd shot as is, the first needs a bit of fill light on the boats.

Thanks, Jack. Now that you mention it, the horizon in #2 Is a little tilted! Good pick-up!

In a scene like this, the shoreline isn't necessarily level so it may not be a good indicator. On the other hand, comparing the boat's masts to their reflection in the water does identify that the image is tilted slightly clockwise. Hope this helps!
