Thread: You're next (that's you!)

    You're next (that's you!)

These were taken last week at the abandoned 'Boys Village' in South Wales. I hate to admit this but I lived about 6 miles from this site back in the 1980's and never knew it existed! Details here...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boys_Village

And if you want to see all of my shots from that day... Boys Village slideshow

The slide show is amazing. I love the colours and textures and composition of all of these shots. Great subject matter and history.

What a powerful documentary and, I would suggest, an important social commentary on not only where we've been, but where we are today, as a society. My compliments to you, sir.

Number 1 is a cracker. Really gritty. You live in a beautiful part of the country but you are showing the real life behind the postcard image. Keep posting these. I used to do a fair bit of what is now called urban exploration when I was a kid, old military camps, drains, munition factories. It still give me a tingle when I see thoughtfully executed images of these places

EDIT: Some of your images on the slideshow are a far better showcase than the images 2,3,4 & 5 posted here

I like the burned wooden chair by the door. The place reminds me of 'Hi De Hi'. Cheers for the excellent show.

A lot of character in these photographs. Photos 1, 2 , and 4 are my favorite.

I'll echo what Donald said. Well done. 1, 3 & 4 are excellent.

Thank you. Did you like #4 due to my wife posing in the doorway as a ghostly 'hoodie'? They come in useful do wives.

Yes, it did add a cetain "touch" to the shot. (But I won't tell her you said that!)

I have to agree. I've always said my wife is 'touched' but I still love her for her charm, grace and wit...

I sure hope she's not lurking around here!
