    Hi Randy,

I adore the image of the white Egret for the beautiful background (gorgeous water), splashes and also the beautiful detail on the underside of the Egret (shadowed area).

The top half of the Egret is clipped (no detail seen in the bright white) I suspect that you were photographing this Egret in challenging light conditions as I have made many similar attempts with Herons in flight (partially back-lit with heavy shadow on one side/over exposed on the other side) and it has taken me a while to recognize this lighting and try to find easier lighting conditions to photograph birds in, and I'm still learning to do so.

Nice detail in the wild turkey! What a funny looking bird.

The turkey one of my rare shots that did not need cropping, he was NOT intimidated! This is the time of year when the turkeys are terrorizing hubcaps everywhere-they are that juiced on hormones. The homeowner tells me that every morning this Tom walks up to the patio door goes into full spread and starts gobbling. Spring is a fun time in Minnesota.

I love all of them Randy but the Egret and the Turkey takes the cake. To me they are perfect examples of beautiful birds, though I will probably call the Turkey more a nice bird for my dinner table...hehehehehe The wood ducks will always be beautiful because of their colours -- pretty much resembling Kyle's work...The turkey has that nice pose and sharpness...I like your story about them going after hubcaps. I must tell that to my husband... Thank goodness that we do not have to shoot them so we can have one for our dinner table.

Isabel, I might be mistaken but I believe that the state of Minnesota has Missouri to thank for our turkeys. They were extirpated in this state long ago by over hunting and habitat loss. Like the trumpeter swans that I am so fond of photographing, they were reintroduced in the 80's and have done extremely well. All due to those that hunt deer and ducks, this is what the dollars spent on special stamps to hunt these two species. Although I do not really hunt, I do not bad mouth those that do.

Nancy, the best thing is that these are all taken in peoples backyards.
