Robert, I don't want to sound like I'm shining you on, but I (honestly) only just now realized the image is B&W. I just didn't notice. And to me that means that the image simply works in B&W. I didn't miss there not being color. Really great shot.

For me the last crop is just a bit to tight. Overall the photograph is delightful and the tonal range spot on. However the area of breaking water immediately in front (on his right) of your son I think would look better toned down a bit. The brightness seems to be demanding to much of my attention.
