Beautiful Day With Clear Blue Skies

The television weather people could just make a loop saying "Beautiful Day With Clear Skies For Escondido"and run it over and over 365 days a year. They wouldn't be too wrong with that forecast. We have some of the most beautiful year-round weather with 266 days of sunshine...

What we don't have is a variety of clouds, so when we had beautiful culmulus cloud formations in this area over the past week or so, I shot about 500 cloud images. I have saved them in a directory which I named "clouds" (now that's an original name; isn't it). Anyway I now have a selection of cloud images to insert into images with blank and boring skies.

I often take the same sort of photographs but my directory is called "sky" which is easier to type.... but we never have a shortage of clouds as NZ is sometimes referred to as "The Land of the long white cloud"

I love clouds. I try each day when the weather is beautiful, to look for shapes in them, or numbers...even my nickname. I have a folder named Stocks and a subfolder Clouds. 'Makes it easier to find backgrounds when needed.

I know the feeling about clouds. I live in Florida USA, and we have harsh sun almost 365 and being I'm on the coast the sea breezes keep the clouds away. So when we do get clouds, I try to get as many useable shots of all shapes and colours that I can.

I see we are all adherents of the "Straight out of the Camera" school then. I have a "Useful Images" folder with a sub-folder for clouds.

An interesting thread but from a weather rather than photographic angle.

In the UK a long spell of similar weather is, with some notable exceptions, uncommon. This leads to the weather being a common topic of conversation and for some, something to moan about.

I don't understand the moans - that is the way the weather is here. I have been in T shirt and shorts in February, seen the rainfall for a month fall in 24 hours in April and snow in May and would not have it any other way.

I feel a little sorry for folks who have day after day of unchanging weather.

Dave...don't take notice of other people moaning about your weather over there. Although I did not like it myself when I went over for a short visit, I think the greatest gift you and your people gave (and teach) the world is how to enjoy the kind of weather you have over there...just that some people do not see it that way...
