I don't know how your caption fits the photo and don't care because I like the photo. Consider making the rectangular thingies in the top left corner and top center less distinct, as well as the tree on the far right. Those three objects seem not to blend in sufficiently with the rest of the image.
I like it too....it's moving toward being almost too far round the bend. That is, it's almost difficult to tell what it might be.
But maybe that's your intent.
Thanks Mike...I'll give that some serious thought. I liked the delicacy of the far lights and buildings as a balance .
There isn't a tree in the pic though.
Hi Sharon,
I mostly love your work (and you, always), but I struggle with this one.
It just doesn't reach me. I appreciate it may say at least as much about me as about the photograph.
Just thought I should say,
Dave
I am not interested in where the picture was taken: it's relation to realism is irrelevant to me. What I do care about is what I see and can read into the image presented, and Sharon's skills in producing it. I see three figures standing in the rain on a muddy sportsfield lamenting their defeat. I also see three women standing in the rain on the footpath gossiping as the cars pass by.
Whatever story is there, I like the contrast in shapes and texture, from the 'fuzzy' softness of the dark figures to the grayish wedge immediately above them, and the anchored verticals in the lighter background.
Very interesting, especially artistic, wonderfully creative...
