    Spotlight on Earnslaw

A series of images concentrating on the TSS Earnslaw which; is probably the oldest working Steam Driven ship in New Zealand. I hope you enjoy this ride on this Grand Old Lady

As always your comments/critique are most welcome.

#4 Foredeck Winch, (which was made approximately ten miles from where I'm sitting writing this post, and of course they named the town after me !. So it just had to be included in my collection.)

Missed these. Interesting set of images Peter. I particularly like the Captain in his lair.

Me too Peter -- the captain one is a very good shot. Good series.

Excellent shots in telling the story. Love them.

Good memories, we took a trip on the old gal, and it was old then, some 30 years ago. Still looks as young as ever.
They might have named the town after you but the instruments were made in my town.

Cheers Scouse, Liverpool is a great place I had the good fortune to work there over a number of years. Latterly during the construction phase of the shopping centre. I also have friends who like you are from the city, strangely though they all reside in Australia !

Liverpool...a great place to be from. Then again I used to like the north yorkshire moors. We used to parachute up there and walk down to Robin Hood Bay for an evening sip...or two.

I lived in Auckland NZ for a few years. With Air New Zealand.

Thanks again Peter, for those excellent shots.

    Nice series of shots, Peter.

Just one suggestion. Consider cropping most of the sky off in top image. Crop almost down to the top of hillside on the right, but leave a little sky showing. I don't think the sky contributes significantly to the story. The sky is also so light, it draws the viewer's attention away from the steamboat. Others may disagree.

Thanks Ken, I think that's a good call for a crop. Sorry I'm late in responding I missed your response previously.

Peter I missed these shots but you've got some good ones there. When we travelled on her, there was a guy giving the winch a lick of paint.
