Both nice shots, Rita. The B/W turned out nice on the conversion. I like the half hidden sun in the second. Playing with the lighting a bit in post might bring out some colors and increase dramatic effect a bit.

Thanks Greg, I will take care of the noise in the shadows. I see what you mean by the pontoons (I don't know what they are called either). That is something that I hadn't considered.
Rita,
I prefer your second image of the bridge. I think the sun (and glare) lend something overall to the image. I might suggest that you try a B&W conversion on this image as well. There's great detail in this sky which your first image lacked. The other point is that in your first image of the bridge, as it recedes into the background (LRHS) the bridge apparently changes its direction a bit and to me it disrupts the image. In your second version the curve is smooth and continuous and much more pleasing to the eye. And I agree with Dan, those are piers.
Thanks Jack & Dan, I will try a conversion on this one and I will play with the colour version to see what I come up with. Will post them later
Rita, I think the B&W is excellent (and makes your concern about the purple sun rays moot)!
Thank you Jack.
You have created a stunner in the black & white shot with the sun and you should be very proud! Nice work
Both versions are excellent. The reworked color is much improved and the B/W is awesome. Nice job.
Thank you Shane, I do really like the B&W. This image has certainly come a long way from the original post thanks to all of the feedback. I look at this and think "Did I really do this"
Thank you Dan.
