    A fly about 1/2"

    I was bored today between hill climbs at werrington, images to follow, and started shooting local bits and bobs, god am I amazed at the 28-300 Nikkor VR, at less than 1/2 Mtr at the 300 setting

    NO I never said it was a "macro" or good shot, I just never thought a 300mm shot at less than the distance of a camera away was possible

    1/2" is half an inch. 1.27 mm is a big fly but I guess this is not the point of your post unlike the title suggests.

    !!!!! 1.27mm where did that come from ??

    The fly was about 1/2" in length and the lens was about 12" away from the fly, where did the mm reference come from
