Hahahaha...that might be the messenger, Jack -- not the one who will kneel on the floor for forgivness.

Great concept, Jack, but are there no romantics among us who assume he simply wants to be a nice guy?

Try brightening it 1 to 1 1/2 stops. Notice the histogram.

    Izzie,

He was too well dressed to be the messenger. He had the look of a penitent.

Mike, optimism is good for poker and horse racing, but a man, mid-day with flowers...either he done wrong or he's got a girlfriend.
    How's this version?

OK, let's get real - they are for his mother. He will be out of town for the weekend so he is delivering them now. And she loves her first born son so much that she will be overjoyed and give him a great home cooked meal. She does not know he will be out of town with his latest hussy, not his wife :-) What a cold world where nothing is fully black and white!

OK seriously, do you ever leave some color in areas of your black and whites? And if yes, when and why? I sometimes do and would like to hear others' take on it.

That would be a good topic for a new thread.

Denise, thank you, yours is an equally good interpretation! That's what I like about these shots, there is no answer; we are left to assume.

An to your question, I have yet to leave any color in my B&Ws. I've seen it done, and if done conservatively it can work (I guess), but then that kind of defeats the (my) purpose of B&W. Maybe you should post your question as Mike suggested -as a separate thread- we might see some very good examples of adding/leaving color.

Thanks Mike! I agreed with you on Denise posting her question in the forums. I'm equally interested in seeing some examples and what others have to say (e.g. Il Maestro del bianco e nero.)

Click the Forum button located at the top of the window. Then click whatever forum you want to add your thread to. Then click the Post New Thread button. The rest is intuitive.
