As a brand new member I thought that I should post a picture not just to present myself but also to see that I have understood how the posting works at this particular forum.

Since birdphotography is one of my favourites I chose, of course, a bird.

Very nice, Mats. Wonderfully composed - brings to my mind Japanese silk screen art for some reason. The branch makes a wonderful delicate line that contrasts with its texture and coarseness. Together with great expression on your subject, light, assembly of color, sharpness and DOF/defocus it's a really fine piece. Look forward to more of this sort of inspiration from you.

Very nice one, would be great to have a bit more contrasting background to the backmost part of the bird. I like the way the face and the opened beak is captured.

Is it real? Now that is a silly question, I know...I have not seen this kind of pose in a bird. It is beautiful. Quick shot. Very nice...

Thank's all. As almost allways there's a little bit of luck involved. 600mm on short range makes it hard to frame and focus on a smalll bird before it's off. I got a burst of three shots before it was gone. This one, and two with a "good" pose.

Love the framing with the branches position, they really work well with this stunning wee creature.

    Re: Robin

That's a great shot Mats. I think I would apply a small crop to lose the out of focus object bottom right but keep the same aspect ratio. But one way or the other, this is a real keeper.

Beautiful capture! Lovely detail and a nice background. I agree with John about cropping that little bit out.

    Re: Robin

    Hi there Mats,

In my experience, they don't often sing "at you" quite like this, so yes, a bit of luck was involved (including what it perched on), but also skill - to get those 3 shots off in focus and with good exposure, well done.

Welcome to the CiC forums from ...
