    Good night Saigon

    Hello,

    I've seen a new parc on the Saigon river bank. I tried HDR pic at sunset end to show the new city.

    Best regards

    Hi Sylvain. Excellent use of the fence in the foreground to lead the eye in a sweeping curve to the detail in the skyline. The dark fence, though totally detailed, still offers a counterbalance to the dark sky at the top of the image.

    I would have expected that the buildings would have been sharper. With HDR processing, using multiple exposures to produce a tonemapped image is difficult with sharp building lines like these as image sharpness and image registration both need to be almost perfect to avoid getting a soft result.

    Gorgeous. I'm interested in the numerous little starbursts - they are prominent and sort of cool. What explains them (lens? f-stop? Processing?)

    Thank you Mark, this is because of the very small aperture f22.

    Nice shot! I really like that variety of colors incorporated in the background and the dark tones in the foreground. The curve of the fence draws your eye back to the city. Great composition.

    Hi Sylvain

    I like this image a lot too. I think the composition works well and is interesting and the exposure and processing are first class in my opinion.

    Generally I'm not a fan of HDR, they often seem overdone and contrived, but in this case it works really well. Overall what really works for me is that the colors appear to be mostly a gunmetal gray and yellow lights, which makes that lavender (?) colored building really stand out. You could even crop the image to just show the railing and it would be a great pic in itself.

    Thank you for your advice. I'll try a shorter frame at the bottom of the image.

    Hello,
    Thank you for your comments;
    I listened your advice and changed in non HDR version for better sharpness and croped at the bottom.

    The composition is indeed inspiring, not only the fence leading us in, but the tree on the rt is just perfect placement to keep us there, for me. Well done

    Thank you for your comments. For the composition, I did not have too much choice because the place is quite small and with a large crowd of people, as is often the case in Asia. Thank you again.
