    Walking home in the moonlight

I would welcome your thoughts on this image does it work, what could I do to improve it in post processing.

    Walking home in the moonlight

I struggled with the thread title but... I suppose the image is more important than the thread title .

It is just an initial impression Peter, but as I looked at the image I found it interesting until I scrolled all the way down and realized that half of the image had nothing to hold my attention.

Scrolling back up until the bottom of the image aligned at about the point where the sidewalk meets the road and essentially a square crop, brought back the magic for me. Other's mileage may vary.

There is too much foreground, Peter...if you put those two people a third of the way down, I think it will look better...the moon and the clouds will still be there...

I agree with the above. Cropping off a lot of the bottom makes it a lot stronger.

    Hi Peter.

I agree with others on the cropping. As posted, the two people are somewhat dark and it takes a while for the viewer to see them. I suggest lightening them a bit.

Here is a version for your consideration.

BTW, I really like the s-curve of the painted line to guide the viewer down the road.

It definitely needs the crop, but it also seems way too bright to me to be moonlight. Did you lighten the foreground / roadway in pp?

Looking at the shadows, I'd figure they are under a streetlight on the right hand side of the road out of sight.

The cropped version is much better

Re: Walking home in the moonlight

Sorry I'm late coming back to this thread, thanks for all of your comments and suggestions especially wrt there being too much uninteresting foreground. When I composed the image I consciously positioned the road white line in to the bottom RHS.

In the frame prior to that posted here the couple were closer to me i.e. just before the power pole and the road line is in the bottom RHS. With hindsight I should have processed that version.

@ Footloose, FrankMi is correct wrt the street lighting, well spotted Frank. There is another footpath in a park to the right of the road which was also illuminated.

    Thanks once again everyone
