    Is the uneasiness due to the quality of the shot or the clarity? I think the position of the bug or orientation of the image could help somewhat.

    how would i change the position of the bug other than a different crop?

    I don't think it's so much the way it was shot as it is what was shot. I'm just kind of nonplussed by the subject.

    But then pictures of bugs never did much for me.

    Now presented in a manner I can identify more quickly. With the first image, I'm thinking what is that, it looks like a.... with the rotated image I quickly assess that it is a bug and my mind can go on assessing the photo.

    Then you will often be disappointed in my shots. In our garden we have flowers, bugs, bushes, trees and occasionally dogs. And often as not there are bugs on most of them!
