I think I may have overcooked the rose shots.I can't quite make my mind up. I knew exactly what I wanted but the result fell far short of expectations.

Yep, see what you mean, Steve. Particularly the first (#3). But, as Rob comments, #1 !!! Dammit, it's only a handbag. But it's packed full of sensuality and mystery (but that, I acknowledge, is a very male perspective). But, and I think objectively, it's a cracker.

I love the composition and the subdued reflection in #3, so I tried a post-process treatment (checked with Steve about posting).
Selected the rose, then converted to B&W with default settings.
