A Panoramic View of Mt Bromo

I was there with a group of six other photographers to learn astrophotography. It was an intense two sleepless nights. These two panoramic images of Mt Bromo, Mt Batuk and Mt Semeru; one shot early in the morning from a high vantage point showing the fog covering the valley with the village on the left and across it, Mt Bromo, the active volcano spewing sulphuric gases. The other image shot from the village showing the vast deserted sandy valley shot during the evening. The locals call the valley Segara Wedi (Sea of Sand.) If you click on the image you could faintly see the huge Hindu Temple complex at the bottom of the mountain that miniaturises it by it's size.

Steven these are great photos. The colours and light are wonderful and the clouds, fog and fumes all add to the atmosphere.

And you get a few more points for the physical hardship endured to get them

Dave, there was not much hardship involved as Justin Ng aka Justin Ng Photography, had a van and motorbikes to fetched us around to the different locations, except for a 20 mins hike that is only accessible by foot or on horse back

Those are two very impressive photographs Steven!

The morning mist filling the valley in the first is spectacular but not to be outdone by the use of the grasses in the foreground to frame the evening sun coming through the clouds in the second.

These would make an impressive pair no matter where they were displayed.

If I am to be critical of anything, it is the dark streaks that go over the image. Probably created by exposure differences or vignetting in the images that are put together.

I get a little green looking at these images. It is really very pleasing to view.
The way you handled exposure and colour is great. The light in these shots is beautiful.

Great panos Steven - it looks like mother nature was cooperating quite nicely when you shot these. Your post-processing has a very painterly look to the scenes, which works very well with these two settings. Nicely done!

Hi Mats, appreciate the critique. It made me think of how I stitched the pixs. To help me further, is it possible to download the pix/s and highlight the dark streaks? I would like to look over my original shots.

Hi Andre, I thought the pix was too green for when the words "little green" were first seen 8) ... I have to admit, I was a bit taken aback by the ease of capturing the feel of the morning shot while the evening shot was slightly more of a challenge. I am glad it came out OK. Anyway, thanks for the comments.

I think it would be hard to highlight parts of the finished panorama. The solution is to look over the originals and even them up.
Maybe an unneccessary question but yo do have the same exposure on all pixs?
