Wireless Shutter Canon T3 Compatibility
Hi All,
I own a basic, Canon Rebel T3 DSLR. I cannot seem to find a wireless shutter release compatible with this model. Can anyone tell me if there's a wireless shutter release out there that is compatible with the T3? I should have purchased the T3i, actually, I know.
Thanks,
Jeff

Vello makes a whole line of wired and wireless releases.

All that matters is that you get the correct plug. Canon traditionally has used a different plug for many Rebels than for more expensive cameras. If you have the right plug, the model of camera shouldn't matter.

Yeah, you're not gonna find an infrared shutter release since the body has no sensor for it, and you're going to have to go to radio shutter releases where a receiver unit plugs into the camera's cable release port. Basically, you just need to make sure the bit that plugs into your camera's cable release port has the right connector, since Canon uses two different ones: a small 2.5mm miniplug for the lower-end cameras, and a proprietary three-pin connector for the prosumer/pro models.
My personal recommendation, actually, would be to look for low-cost flash radio triggers that can do double-duty as a shutter release (e.g., Yongnuo RF-603ii or Cactus V5/V6 triggers. That way, you not only get a remote shutter release, you get a way to play Strobist, too, for not much more cash.
