Hi john I like the combination of shadows and shapes, but IMO the shadow on the RHS is too much and distracting. I would crop the column of shadow and leave the triangle part only for a better look( but leave the very fainting part of the column shaped shadow uncropped).

    Binnur,

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Actually I composed one using less of the RHS shadow, I'll do a crop of this one first.

That was my thoughts as well, even before seeing Binnur's words.
The second cropped image is much stronger John, well spotted and captured

I actually meant something like this John. Sorry for not asking permission before touching your image so please say, if you don't like it I will remove it.

I think you there are two images in the original, John. I would try cropping the left hand side off, almost splitting the frame down the middle but leaving the rh column of the dark brickwork. Also take a bit off the top to remove the roof line so there isn't a black rectangle on the edge of the frame.

    Here it is.

Joe McNally would call this pictures within pictures. I can see a third possible selection, the flowers in the window, although I like how they are just a small glimpse within the larger original version. I also tried this image in black and white, lost some detail in the flowers so I am still experimenting.

That 2nd crop works for me, John, I find it really powerful.
