Between The Bridges; Morning By The Pond

I've revisited my site between two bridges three times this week. This one was done in morning light. I've cropped it in a way that I think best emphasizes the growth along the bank. Do you find the reflections of the trees and green in the water a distraction? C&C solicited and welcome.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

I don't find them a distraction, in fact you could have used the reflections solely as the subject

Very nice image If this place is close to your house, you might like to give it a go very early in the morning, the reflections might look even better. In addition I like the colour of the bushes very much.

I just love a good reflection and this one is very pretty. Funny though, I want to see a bit more top and bottom as I feel that this subject in this image is the lovely band of reeds rather than the overall scene. Does that make sense?

I like Binnur's suggestion for an early morning shoot as it could result in a stunning scene.

Nice image Andrew, and I agree with the others that this scene is worth exploring further at bit earlier with less harsh light.

That sort of quiet water is rare and is worth further exploration for any sort of water life and their reflections, or...maybe just tossing a pebble and shooting the ripples.

As per Shane's comment here is another shot that provides more room above the reeds.
This location is but a short drive from my home and I will be revisiting the site as I continue my Between The Bridges project. Being in a stream valley the pond and stream are in shadow as the sun rises. I'll make a point of getting to the pond earlier and see if the quality of light improves.

I think I prefer this version. Not sure why but I think this crop puts the line of the image of the edge along the 1/3 line instead of a direct split. The view of the trees give the reflection a reason to be there.

Stalking wildlife, I often use reflections to see from a slightly different direction so that might why my eye leaves them fairly quickly.

I prefer the 2nd image because the colours are richer and the light also seems softer. Beautiful!

Hi Andrew, you have a good eye for picking out composition. The second one looks even better.

This would be a great location to experiment with the camera position being very close to the surface of the water, particularly if you can catch it with the water surface at a dead calm (no wind).

I really like the 2nd image Andrew. The receding line of reed leads your eye from right to left and there is a lot of depth in the forest that draws your eye back into the image.

I'm enjoying this series as the views you present are really lovely and they are thought provoking to me as a fellow budding landscape photographer. Thanks!
