    I'm in love

The local florist is a source for some great subjects, plus...shooting in the kitchen is great light.

Nice, I like the close-ups but the black and white really stands out.

I like the black and white too, but I think the second image is great - so imaginatively composed. And you are right - you've got really nice light in your kitchen!

The bar for shooting flowers this Spring is really being raised at CiC and this fascinating composition is no exception. Very well done William.

I accept your ego boosting accolades with the appropriate humility, but trust me when I say that they are no big deal. All I do is use a tripod holding a 180 macro with a 2 X TC attached and shoot down on them after manually adjusting exposure, which worked out to be f/32, ISO 100, 0"6. I allow no walking in the house when I shoot slow SS like these and I do stack (five in this case) them to CMA on proper focusing. The clouds covering the sun will necessitate starting over with the series.

In other words, taking a pretty picture is easy...when you have a pretty subject.

And recognize ideal light, create an ideal composition, use an ideal exposure, instruct everyone in the house to stop breathing, use effective focus stacking and effective post-processing including focus-stacking software. All of that's really easy. Yeah, right.
