    Wood Ducks and Geese

All photographed at Burnaby Lake, BC. The lake has a marshy area which is a great spot for birding.

You are getting good at these Christina. 3,4, 1 and 2 in that order for me. Just love the last one. It's expression is almost human.

Nicely done, well exposed. I like the energetic expression of the duck in the last image.

    Re: Wood Ducks and Geese

Thank you Frank, Binnur, David, Grahame, Bobo, John2 and John for your comments, and also for letting me know which Wood Duck you like best. I always have a hard time culling and looking at my images objectively.

With respect to the two floating wood ducks in #3 the reflection of the ducks head in the water is near perfect and in #4 the reflection of the ducks head is blurred but I too love the expression on his face.. And then I have another with a perfect little water droplet about to fall off of his beak... etc, etc... So it is nice to know that the expressive shot is preferred.

    Thank you to all!

Nice set. Well done, I love the Woodies here but they're really shy.

Thank you Ken. The males are so beautifully colourful, not very shy here.

Thank you Dan. Especially nice to hear that the techs are decent from you.

Please always feel welcome to let me know how I may improve. I'm working on trying to find the best light and nice backgrounds, and also on my post processing to find the balance between natural but vibrant, not too flat (enough contrast), etc. and most recently trying to learn how to bring out more detail.

I've learned a lot from you. Thank you!

Christina, I hope you are proud of the progress you've made over the past few months. Improving is a journey that never ends. But it is nice to look back and see some miles behind as well as in front of you

As I looked through these before I read the comments, I was thinking the same thing that Dan expressed. Wow, how much improvement you've shown over time here on CinC. Beautiful stuff here, Christina!

Dan... yes I'm learning that it is a never-ending journey but an enjoyable journey thanks to everyone on CnC.

Terri... Thank you. I've learned a lot from you, too!

    Gerry... #4 indeed!
