Satellite View | Little Guy in the Sand

Because the kids are so young one of my rules is not to post current views showing their faces, so, to mix it up a bit I'm toying around with a new top-down perspective.

Satellite View | Little Guy in the Sand

Please click for a sharper view

    ISO200, F/8, 24mm, 1/1000, 4ft. above the subject (sorry, coordinating a satellite shot proved too challenging )

...the downside is I can't see what's in frame - it's hold the camera up and hope for the best. I've got some ideas, the craziest being some kid-friendly laser pointers mounted to the underwater camera-housing to project the corners of the frame on the ground, to a custom periscope attached to the live-view screen.

    Thoughts?

My thoughts are that is unusual and quite beautiful. Perhaps not ideal as a family record but an imaginative image. The little highlight caused by the water he is sitting in adds to this and the conversion is on the money for me as well.

Awfully nice. I've wondered about posting my grandkids with faces showing and sadly, I think your reluctance on this may be wisest.

Thanks John, very much appreciated! Wet sand and mono. are a good pair; gives off a fabric like appearance...

That is a great shot Robert, you should be very pleased with it and, IMO, well worth printing and displaying.

If I was being hypercritical I would prefer some cropping on both sides, but even as it is now, I wish I had taken one as good.

Can I ask why you feel your photos should not show the faces of your children?

Thanks for the encouraging feedback Dave, much appreciated. As for not posting full-on recognizable faces I suppose it's just me being an overcautious parent...
