A couple more geese and terns from D7100 test

Here are a couple more of the shots that I took the other day testing out the D7100. I'm woefully out of practice for BIF shooting and didn't do too well on the terns. But that is why they are good practice

But I do think there is a problem with the camera after its repairs. I don't remember it clipping wings as badly before

And a couple of static shots to take user error out of the equation.

Good series, but 1 and 3 are a bit special. Would prefer it if all the wings were present if the original allows it.

Time to return is now, looks like the repair shop missed the sneaky cropnometer.

Exactly. But in all fairness, it only cut off one wing on the tern. I balanced it up in PP. The tipless goose is FF as captured.

Thank you for sharing Dan.... Yes, indeed my camera's cropnometer also has a mind of it's own.

It's very nice to see your Geese. They are beautiful birds in flight especially when their wings are lit by the sun. Beautiful backgrounds and gorgeous detail!

Thanks, Christina. This is the first time I've shot any Canada Geese in quite a while. They don't typically hang around the area of the marsh where I shoot the terns. The other day they were all stirred up chasing each other around and came within range. It is a lovely place to shoot on clear mornings taking advantage of the backlighting and a nice BG.

    Great you got it fixed.
Usual high quality shots so there is nothing much more there to say.

Thanks, guys. The first time shooting BIFs this season. The geese are fairly easy to track. But my hit ratio on the terns was appallingly low. Gotta get out an shoot....

    Terns turn. Quickly.

Nice shots. How do you like the new 80-400mm?
