The Power of Water in B&W

My wife captured these two details of Upper Swallows Falls located in western Maryland. I like them for their creative viewpoints and their display of the force of rapidly moving water. Post-processed by me.

Please view the large size to appreciate the detail.

Nice images Mike. The graininess works well in these shots.

Mike your wife appears to have the knack, they are both great shots.
I'm liking #2 more because of the entire composition, the U-shaped falls leads the eye right into the maelstrom.
However, in #1 one can see not just individual droplets but mist as well.
There's great detail in both of these shots. Should your wife decide to take control of her own PP I suspect your usefulness may...well that's a bridge to cross when you get there

Thanks, everyone! I'll be sure to pass along your kudos to my wife. I just now post-processed similar photos that I captured and none of them display the creativity of her compositions.

Don't get ahead of yourself, Jack. I cook the evening meal every day. If she ever learns how to cook, that will be the day that I'll be concerned about my usefulness.

Both good, but the composition of the first one is wonderful. But one has to say, in support of the old man (!), the final image is a two-person product because it is beautifully processed.

The B/W is really effective in this situation. Nicely done. By both the photog and the lab technician.

Thank you to John and Dan. "Lab technician" sounds better than "old man" even if it isn't as accurate.
