    Poppy and peony

As you know I love flowers and have been photographing those I have grown as a project this year, Well I missed the one magnolia bloom so that will have to wait for next year. But I did manage to grab

    • one of my tree peony which, alas, also only has one bloom this year and,
    • this afternoon in trying to grab the one poppy in flower it denuded itself of its petals

So any gardening tips welcome, as well as thoughts on the photos of course !! There is little processing in either.

The first is the peony - big and blousy in the evening sunshine

The second my poppy seed head.......its at a 1:1 ratio and until today I had never noticed them........

The shot of the peony is a stunner, Kaye. With respect to the poppy, I generally find flowers much more interesting when they are in decline.

Thanks all for looking and commenting. Greg - I agree there is beauty in the decline of a flower but have yet to capture an image where the flower still has that quality rather than just looking sad. I've been interested by Kris' interpretation of this which has given me something to work on.....................

That first is really stunning. I think you've got everything about it just perfect.
