Ste-Ann Canyon and Falls - Downstream view

A few days ago, I posted an image where the water was just about to go over the falls.

    Ste Anne's Falls

I've now PP'ed a view downstream of the top of the falls. The volume of water, due to the spring runoff is quite impressive. I did a fair bit of bracketing of shutter speed, trying to get the water too look right; not too much blurring and not too frozen. This one I shot with the D800, rather than the GX7.

The challange was trying to find something that works overall (a bit like working with mixed lighting) and different flow rates work better at different shutter speeds, so one has to use the "best" compromise. This is a large format image, so you might find it interesting to view in Lytebox to see what I mean here.

Terrific image, Manfred. I like your choice of shutter speed. I hope you'll consider removing the long wire (or whatever it is) once you get the time.

In my photos of a few waterfalls last weekend, I also experienced a high volume of water. With that spring runoff came the muddy color that is also prevalent in your scene. I generally don't like the muddy look in still water but I think it makes rushing water appear more dynamic, as evidenced by your image.

I thought about removing it (I believe it's a zip line) but didn't originally.

Here's the updated image without the cable.
