Hi Rita, It looks to me like you've done very well with your image.
The key here is that you've gone past the basics of post processing where you can make effective global adjustments to your image.
At this stage you're able to select and treat parts of the image separately which usually means becoming adept at using one or more of the selection tools, creating masks, using layers, and merging the results into your final image. Well done!
Hi Frank, thank you for your feedback. PP is something that I have been really working on. Just one comment on your feedback, I have never used a mask, wouldn't know what to do with it. It is something I need to learn though
Nice work Rita, similar to the work I do on a lightbox. Maybe would save you some time in pp if you just plucked off the flower and photographed it against a white background.
Thanks Travis. Yes, I could have picked the flower however, the lady that does the gardening is quit cantankerous and I probably would have ended up with buckshot in the rear. And considering she is in her 90's she has a pretty good aim
You may have used a mask without realizing it. There are two primary kinds of masks, Layer Masks and Adjustment Masks.
In its simplest use, a Layer Mask is like a piece of paper. Where the paper is white, we see what is on that layer, like the flower in your image above. Where we paint black on the white piece of paper, we create a hole that allows us to see what is in the layer below. In your image above, you could have painted black on the mask to reveal a white layer below it.
Here is a link to where I used a Layer Mask to reveal parts of the image in the bottom of two layers.
One of the first Layer Mask Videos I watched explains how it works and how easy it is to use.
Hope this helps!
Thank you so much for the links Frank. That helps greatly. I will play around with that technique. It will certainly be a lot easier than how
I did the image I posted here.
Very nice Rita
Nicely done, I like how you incorporated the background color in between the petals, I also like the quality of the first image.
Than you David and John.
Excellent work; yet i feel removing the stalk completely gives a beheaded feeling
Nice trial Rita
Thank you Binnur.
Nandakumar, thank you. I am working on another version of it leaving some of the green in
