Fascinating coloring!
Lovely image Brian!
Thats' a great image - how did you get the black background ?
Shadowed mangroves while the pelican was in the light. This is the original

Hi Brian: I really like this shot. The pelican's head really pops against the black background. I also want to know how you achieved the background.
Nice shot, Brian. Finding opportunities with naturally vanishing BG like that is one of my favorites. Much easier to do with stationary things like flowers that you can revisit at different times of day. Well done.
Fantastic shot. Really like what you did with the background. Great colour, super sharp.
I really like this shot and post processing, Brian. Very well done!
Absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful light, detail and colour showing off the true beauty of the pelican.
I also with to learn to process low-key images and I have a low key egret, but first I will tackle high-key.
Great image Brian
Gorgeous detail!
Did you intentionally allow some of the background to show through the generally black area? I can't tell at this small size whether I like or dislike that aspect of it.
very well done
