    Flying Glass

May mean something different to you if you happen to be a pilot.

    Flying Glass

I had a chance to go up with my son in his Cirrus SR22 Turbo. It was good to get back in the air as I hadn't flown in a while.

This type of instrumentation is referred to as a 'Glass' Cockpit.

    Flying Glass

We popped over to EQY, Monroe, NC where I got most of the flight training for my pilot's license.

    Flying Glass

All in all, a good day!

Looks like a lot of fun, Frank!

That single-engine plane reminds me of a pilot I new 40 years ago. His girlfriend refused to go up with him in anything that had only one engine for fear that it might die while they were in the air. He repeatedly explained that even if the engine did die, he would be able to control the flight using the two doors. She finally agreed. Sure enough, the engine went out and he safely landed the plane at an airport with him working one of the doors and her working the other one.

If I remember correctly, their relationship didn't last much longer. I wonder why.

Hi Mike, one person described flying as hours of boredom punctuated by occasional bouts of sheer terror. Once you properly address your competency, it can be quite enjoyable. Staying competent, however, is a continual process.

Hi John, thank you for the feedback!

Not a bad way to spend a day. Yes instrument panels in all sorts of equipment look substantially different nowadays.
