    Weathered Stump

Went to Boundary Bay, south of Vancouver BC. This area is renowned for fall and winter bird photography. I spent the entire time shooting driftwood. There were a few birds about , mainly hawks and blue herons, but I don't seem to have the patience for shooting them. Besides this stuff is too fascinating for me

My wife calls this "Forest Gnome".

It's so easy to make an image in this style that is so-so yet extraordinarily difficult to make one as good as this one. Well done in every respect. I could examine the details forever.

That's a cool one, Trevor. I see the scarecrow from WizofOz.

Nicely done, good characteristic shapes within the stumps.

One shot. Nikon D700 Nikkor 70-200 mm at 200 mm, f 22, plus 0.7 EV exposure compensation, ISO 200, 1/8 sec on tripod with mirror up and cable release on shutter Circular polarizing filter reduce surface reflection

Nice shot, Trevor. I would clone out that folded over leaf poking out on the right side of frame. At first I though it was a plastic bag - so used to seeing people's garbage littering our countryside.
