Good composition, Brain, I like the lines in this - although I wonder if the framing might be a little too tight. In any case, let me be the first to suggest it: have you tried B&W?

Very nice composition. To take the image to another level, try to increase the detail in the white areas.

Here is what I had to start with.
The stuff above the bird is ugly so it needed to be cropped. It was taken in shade and that made for some cool tones on the far side so they look a bit blue.
I might be able to bring out more detail but one thing I think High Key should do is blend into a light background.
