Hi John, I particularly like how you captured the Columbine in the second shot. You might want to try cropping to make the Columbine more prominent in the frame and lose the majority of the large dark tree trunk on the right. I know, there's always a critic in the crowd!

Frank, thanks for the comments and critique. I was thinking of other crops I just liked how the background gave some separation for the flower.

nice work John I really like the composition of the columbine shot . At first I thought the foreground rock was too much but the more I looked the more I liked it the way it is.

That it does John. Actually it was the separation that caused my to consider the tighter cropping. I was just thinking that with a high contrast subject against a high contrast background, increasing the presence of the subject, particularly a red one, would minimize the impact of the high contrast background and should provide better separation. Just a thought.

I like this version very much John IMO dark part at the top needs cropping , the green leaf on the upper right and bright thing at the bottom right corner need cloning out.

I agree this version looks really nice! Well done John! (I was just thinking if it would be worth trying to tone the foreground rock down. It looks a bit too brightful. Just a thought ). Cheers,
