Possibly a very slight crop from bottom and left? But I do mean slight!

The four figures comprise both the entire right vertical as well as horizontal half, violating the rule of thirds. The 'horizon' of water decapitates all four. The jetty of land on the left hand side appears intrusive.

All in all I think you've captured a great image, rules be damned.

    Hi Tony,

I agree with Jack that the first unfortunate thing I noticed was the sea horizon 'cutting' their heads, but given the distances involved, I don't think you wouldn't be able to change that enough to make any significant difference (by going slightly higher or lower with the camera) from where you were.

What struck me was the odd symmetry of four people and four lamp stands in (what could be) opposite 'third' intersections (with a different crop). If only the people had the same order of height profiles and spacings as the lamp stands - now there's a cloning challenge for you

Being a bit more serious, I like the depth given by the different distances layers in the image - well spotted.

Great eye, Tony! I only wonder if you held the shutter release down for at least 10 frames to see if everyone in the image has a natural position. If not, you could use the various people from other images and move them into this image.

I am too anti-authoritarian to be unduly concerned about rules. I do agree with Geoff about the crop and it is unfortunate that the people are decapitated by the horizon. I removed one person from the group already to get the 4x4 symmetry. Getting 10 or more frames would have been a good idea. I rather like the awkward stepping of the front three people.

Thanks very much for the comments everyone.
