What appears to happen (especially with Samsung phones) is that the cases are available at the time the new phone is launched, but as soon as a replacement comes out, the case makers switch to cases for the new model of phone.
Unfortunately, this seems to be in large part driven by seller throughput and shelf space. New phones means high turnover on accessories, and once the product is effectively obsolete, there is no profit in stocking accessories for older models.
