    An old gentleman

Tis sad to see a subject on it's downward spiral...it was good while it lasted.

I know how you feel, I plucked a blossom for a still life set and it wilted away within 24 hours. Nicely captured.

I like it , I find the color of BG a bit too vibrant for a dying flower

I wouldn't have known that it is a gentleman or that it is on a downward spiral. That shows how little I know about flowers.

One response: wait longer, and let the aging continue. Once flowers or leaves have completely died, you will often see beautiful patterns and textures you can't see while the flower is in bloom. For example, this Stewartia flower:

    An old gentleman

I do these mostly in the autumn and winter, when the only option for live flowers is the florist.
