Godzilla (Marine Iguana) - Galapagos - Set 11

Hi. Here are some Marine Iguana images. These are the only lizards that can live and forage in the sea. They dive up to 9 meters into the sea! Male adults can reach up to 1.7 meters long. It is quite incredible to watch them swimming. Also, their colour is a perfect camouflage when crawling over the black volcanic rocks. An incredible animal, only found in the Galápagos Islands (yep, another unique species from the archipelago). C&C welcomed. Thanks for viewing.

Very nice shots, Otavio. My favorite is #3 because of the contrasting, smooth background at the top. #6 really does show how it can blend in with the rocks.

Another great series. For me #1, a classic shot but timeless, and #7 because it's a bit of a unique shot, not the usual iguana pose. Once again you further the desire to go to see the Galapagos for myself...one of these days.

Just to say thank you for sharing all of your beautiful images from the Galapagos. All true beauties (meant literally and as a compliment) but my favourite is #3 for the gorgeous detail, the water and also just something about the look on his/her face. I also loved the 1st frigate bird image, but my absolute favourites were your Blue-footed boobies, and #3 in this set.
