Re: Welsh slate museum
I like them very much Neil Very nice compositions. Would a HDR treatment be better for #2 and #4 ? I'm not an expert and that's why I asked the question.

Re: Welsh slate museum
Very nice set. No. 3 in particular, is a great portrait. The times I have been near to the Museum and haven't made it there ........ It's got to be a must.

Blacksmith Shops always seem to be mostly black and white; even in real life colour view.
Some interesting tools there.

Re: Welsh slate museum
These are all good images, Neil, and you have done the subjects justice with the b&w, but that 4th one is a very striking image. There is so much power in that shot, it just blows me away.

Re: Welsh slate museum
Great compositions, each and every one of them! I'd like to see the black point raised in the first three, as the images seem too clean considering the environment. In the last one, consider cropping just barely above the top of the waterwheel and on the right side to eliminate the wood. Also try (if it's possible) to bring out some of the detail in the waterwheel.

Re: Welsh slate museum
I've tried your suggestion with the fourth image Mike to bring out more detail but I've had little success,I've tried that crop you suggested to loose the wood and the distracting shadow on the wall to the right.

Re: Welsh slate museum
I like the revised crop better. Though you didn't increase the detail a lot, you definitely increased it.
