I love the posture and look of the woman in the background. Her role tells a great story.
Did you by any chance apply blur to the background using software? The reason I ask is that it seems that you applied the same amount of blur to the distant buildings and the much nearer objects. To emulate the blur displayed in the area of an image that is not in the depth of field, the best way is to apply a blur or series of blurs using a gradient that takes into account the distance to the part of the scene being blurred.
It will be really embarrassing to learn that you applied no blur using software.

I like the picture, but you might consider the girls face, I think the skintone is a bit overcooked.
Very nice, altogether - love the contribution of the soft background figure and structures too. Agree with the others on the color/contrast treatment of the subject - maybe something between the original and your initially posted version would work.
