London Street Photography
Ah - my baptism into street photography in the capital is nearly upon me - I'm having some 'me time' on Thursday and wandering around the city. I've got an itinerary sorted, but does anyone have any suggestions on good locations?
I'll be travelling 'light' as all my camera gear is in a container in the Indian Ocean (well hopefully on the Indian Ocean rather than in it) so it'll be me, D700 and my favourite 35mm Carl Zeiss. I'll post a few of my shots after processing in this thread.
I can't wait - it's been a while and will be completely different in comparison with Dubai!

Hi Phil,
Depends what you are after really.
Maybe get down to some of the local markets and capture some characters, avoid all the usual touristy London locations, they have been done to death.
Incidentally, there is an event running for 24 hours from 17:00 on Friday organised by one of the mags, called 'Photo 24 London 2014' in case you are interested, kicking off at Covent Garden, although falling over hundreds of other photographers is not my thing. Not sure if you are around Friday and Saturday for this though.

Hi Ian
Shame that's on Friday, but maybe that's a good thing!
I'm going on Thursday, picking up early morning suits on their way to work (so they should notice me so much), a few markets and trendier areas of the city, with a few tourist areas thrown in (not for the touristy shots, mind)
