    Themed Photo Challenge #2

Went to check out some locations for this idea then thought I might not get a better day. But I was on my own so I set up the camera on a tripod and used the timer; then ran down the cliff top and pretended to be a stone waller for a moment. It was all a bit of hit & miss really, especially considering that I couldn't hear when the shutter went off.

Eventually a couple of walkers did pass by but as soon as I saw their new bright red and yellow walking suits plus those walker's 'ski poles' in their hands I decided against asking them for assistance.

Voting is open, please use the V numbers in each post.

If anyone has "accidentally" entered a picture by replying to someone else's entry with an image of their own, please let me know and I will remove it.

Voting is open to any member, by sending a Private Message (PM) to Dave Humphries.

Please state your favourite three photographs in '1st, 2nd, 3rd' order, just as the Monthly un-themed challenge does. Scoring will be done the same '3, 2, 1' points way, please use the V numbers in each post.

Voting ends Saturday afternoon (or evening) 20th March.

    Thanks and good luck,

Re: VOTING OPEN on Themed Photo Challenge #2

Vote now please; only 9 people have voted so far and the leaders still have points totals in single figures. It's a close run race at the moment, the last two voters changed the leader twice, but that was over 24 hours ago.

Anyone can vote; instructions on how to vote are in the post immediately above this one (in this thread).

    Thanks all for your 'Love'
We call the model 'TP' and he is now sitting with his mates on our sofa with a puffed out and proud chest!
These comps are getting more challenging ... so many good entries.
    Congrats to all.

    Hi Donald,

Of course, you do realise you'll now have to think of another theme, for April-May

    Well done,

Congrats to Donald Ron and Geoff, and thank you to everyone for your votes. I'm glad it was maple syrup season cause otherwise I was stumped. Lots of ideas, but they all involved people helping each other out, and I never came across such a situation when I had the camera handy.

Work has me stumped right now too. First reaction was to take a shot with the lens cap on and put a black frame on it. I'll try to think of something else though.

Congratulations everybody, I especially liked Wendy's bucket since it was cropped to perfection. Work is much easier as almost everything does work unless it's broke. I liked all the others as well.

    Good heavens!!

Have been out of action for a few days, having torn a muscle in my shoulder (this sort of things seems to be happening to me more often!! Must be either that fact that I've got such a highly toned body ... or not!). Anyway, typing this is agony.

    But, thank you.

It's a pity we can't attract more people to enter and vote on this. All our little 'competitions' are fun. This one does stretch us insofar as we have to do a but of thinking about what we are going to shoot to fit within defined theme. And that's got to be good. As a pure amateur doing this for pleasure, I shoot what I want, within a timeframe that suits me. This competition starts to give you the merest insight into what being a given a commission and a deadline must be like. You've got to to produce the goods - and that's only one per month. And it's not easy. So what must, 'I need X by yy/yy/yyyy - do it', feel like? Which is why I'm just an enthusiastic amateur.

ps - And maple syrup - on pancakes. Ooohhh! That's why I've got such a highly tuned and muscular body!

I thought you had gone walkabout! Very deserving win Donald.
Oh, and get yourself a lightweight camera ... can't go tearing muscles at your age

Like you I hope that more will enter and vote in our comps. But I am noticing many more names cropping up in the forums, and many are staying active. Also great to see that we have a worldwide capture.

Take care Donald. Hope you're soon back getting some shots.

Another enthusiastic amateur here. I like these themed comps because they are fun, and they get me thinkning. I don't always get out and shoot the ideas that I come up with, but it gets my brain out of the usual rut and that is a start. The ideas are still there even after the competiton is over.
The other thing I like about the comps here at CIC is that they are all fun, and open to all levels.

I too wish more people would participate, and hope that new members start to take the plunge and enter. It's all about going out and getting some shots. The Theme is a great motivator to try and think of something new.

Donald - you should try Butter Tarts made with Maple Syrup. Mmmmmmm Great for torn muscles - takes your mind off the pain. Get better soon.
