Great images Dan I like the light on the wings and the tail very much.
Wow those are very nice. Very sharp and agree with Binnur that the lighting is beautiful.
Thanks for sharing
Tim
I second the "wow". Hard to imagine better examples of the importance of light, and properly getting it onto the sensor. Just great, Dan.
Dan...700mm...little birds...how in the name of gawd did you keep them in the viewfinder for the AF to work correctly? Those are great shots under the circumstances!
Thanks for the comments, folks. The spot I was shooting is at a local wildlife reserve where the terns nest. The shaded side of a mountain provides a dark BG and early in the morning as the sun rises over the mountain the birds are backlit. It is difficult to shoot facing the sun so you have to choose an angle and take what flies through.
Let's just say I've got plenty of material for the next "show us your clipped wings" thread

You're right about the lightbox view. Superb set Dan. 1,3 and 2 in that order but I would be proud if I had taken any of them.
Beautiful images. I can't pick one over the others. The backlighting and bokeh make these really exceptional.
all image are fantastic special 3
Thanks for the comments, folks. Glad you enjoyed the shots.
Beauties all. That light through the wings is something special.
