Great Blue Heron VS Moray Eel - Galapagos - Set 14

Hi. I am sharing this nice encounter I had the chance to watch there. This poor Moray was trying to get out of the Heron's beak but it didnt succeed. The moray tried to roll and swing around the heron's beak, trying to convince him to leave it and find another lunch, but I think the heron was really starving!

Thanks for viewing. C&C welcomed. Regards,

My favorite of the 15 threads. #3 with the crabs looking on is just spectacular. I wonder how the eel came to be chopped in half and what happened to the other half.

Every time I see pictures of those birds it amazes me how widespread they are, which begs the question...where aren't they? Cannot convince myself that they are attractive birds.
But...stellar images these most certainly are!

Hello, Mike. Thanks for viewing and commenting. Much appreciated. I think the eel was not actually chopped, it is just that its head is hidden behing the other half of its body on image #3, causing the impression of chopped.

    Kindest regards,
